Bible Promises: Healing - Part I
Rev. Susan Bottger

Exodus 15:26 ..I am the God that healeth thee.

Psalms 107:20 He sent His word and healed them.

Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. NIV

Matt 8:16-17 when evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all the sick. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah: "He took up our infirmities and carried our diseases."  NIV

Matt 9:35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. NIV

Matt 15:30-31 Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel. NIV

Mark 16:15-20 He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. NIV

Mark 11:22-25 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, `Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.  And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." NIV

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. NIV

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him. NIV

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. NIV

Beloved, I pray your faith would be activated as you read these verses today. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.  For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and the [immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature] exposing and shifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. Read the word daily, for it is life to you. The word is a faith builder. I pray for bulldog faith. Once when I was very ill, the Lord reminded me of an old cartoon I saw as a kid. The cartoon showed a bulldog chasing a mailman and when he catches the mailman that ole bulldog clamps his jaws around the leg of the mailman and won‘t let go. The harder the mailman tried to shake off the bulldog the tighter the bulldog bits down. So daily I sought the Lord on a healing scripture for me and just like that ole cartoon bulldog I held on to it and wouldn’t let go. I held on and believed it with all my might and whenever I became to feel the shaking, I held on even tighter. Hold on tight to Jesus and don’t let go. Be a bulldog today hold on to your promise and never let go! I speak healing over you today in  Jesus Name - Susan
