Dearly Beloved in Christ, Greetings to you and the entire family and the members of your congregations in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. I rejoice for serving the Lord in your country, and for counting you faithful to be a channel through which you pour out your blessings into lives around the world. As you release yourself to the influence of the spirit of God, let there be a mighty release of the Lord's power and grace through you. So that you may fully impart the world with glory of the knowledge of His word, In Jesus name Amen. I am 34 years old, and a devoted committed Christian, I knew the Lord five years ago, after the death of my father, who led me to Christ, these village have been in a Platt formed of an havoc, which of any male child at the age of 34 years most be initiated into the worship of the god of the River called \\"otokito\\" as I declared of these age, I was sent for the cremation ground for the initiation ceremony, but I do not concept the law of the land, as a Christian, and according to the bible, thou shall not serve any other god's before me. As I said this to the witch doctor(the one who would do the initiation ceremony) he get angry because I spoke to him with boldness, when it was at night he sent seven giant men, to bring me to the alter of the shrine, and the succeeded. The next morning I woke up to find I had slept on the alter where the god of the River otokito is worshiped. I was dressed in a goat skin and was lying on top of a lion skin. I sat up and my grandfather came to me, when he saw me, he fainted too, I could do nothing to help him, my grandfather never said anything because he was afraid of the witch doctor, the whole village was afraid of him. I was one of a group of 22 waiting to be initiated, I could only ask Jesus Christ to help me, they brought an egg that each of us had to stand on, this was part of the ceremony, I felt someone inside me asking. What are you doing here? Can't you stand up and go away, this place is too dirty? I was the last boy and also the thinnest in the group. The others were all heavier than me, one by one they stood on top of the egg, it did not break, then it was my turn, I stood on the egg, just as all rest had done, but for me the egg broke, the witch doctor was angry it was as though he became mad, at that moment God's power came into me, the witch doctor was shouting but I answered him with word's from the Bible. I went to the alter, took my clothes, threw the skin off and went home and I prayed fervently, every villager, even my grandfather, was afraid of me, no one had ever spoken to the witch doctor like that. At midnight I saw six big men came to take me from my bed down to the river, I tried to escape but they were too powerful for me, I heard the witch doctor said \\"bring him here\\" I stood on the sand by the river, suddenly there was an earthquake every where shook, the witch doctor, and all the powerful men fell down, the alter broke into pieces, then everything became normal again and I heard the witch doctor, who thought I was dead, shout \\"take this one away before he kills me, this is the sort of person I don't like dealing with. The witch doctor and the six men bowl on my feet, and said Jesus is Lord. The next morning, news of what happened went around the village, all the boys, those who were going to be initiated, turned away from the witch doctor religion and give their lives for the salvation of Christ, and including the entire village people, trusted and accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of their life, and the witch doctor embrace Jesus, and gives his life to our Lord Jesus. I thank God for His manifestation power that were revealed to the people of these village to know the real and might God in which they are serving now, all glory be to the father, for all these souls that are saved and rescued from the godless regimes. It was difficult for me to say \\"NO\\" to the witch doctor, but God showed that He is powerful and will help us when we ask Him. We are having problem with our Christian faith, because we do not have the bible and Christian literatures to read that gives faith and comfort. We could not able to afford a copy of the bible because we are poor converts. Please beloved, I kindly request on your assistance for 26 Large and Giant print Bibles and Christian literatures books written in English Language to distribute to these 20 new Christian believers, and other 6 Christian couples who loved to serve the Lord and study God's holy word to close and learn more about God. we are in great need of the Holy Bibles to distribute to these new converts who are in great need of God's word to grow stronger in the Lord, and to lead them into a victorious Christians life. These new believers are backsliding because of lack of the Bible for their personal study, to read God's word brings us faith to perfect His will in our lives. We are in the end time, it is time we open our mouth wilder, and cry aloud and spare not to show His people their transgression, because the second coming of the Lord is at hand, we the saint should give no sleep to fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life to which we also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witness. It is my prayer for God to bring to pass what He is about to do in this village, and for He to raise His laborers into the harvest, and for He to provide for the provision of the fulfilling of the ministry? you are our only hope so we have decide to write to you, We have suffer so much for the lack of Bibles. We greatly need your assistance as we take the gospel to this entire village, for there are many things to be done for the Lord here, with the help of the Bibles will allow us to reach out more lost souls at this time of deception. We pray for God protection and strength upon your life, and for Him to lead you into His perfect understanding and knowledge to bring His people before Him in light. Dear Beloved of Christ, The everlasting grace, peace, joy and prosperity of our Lord Jesus Christ rest upon you now and forever more, it is our joy to always hear from you as our lovely and caring brothers in Christ. Beloved we sincerely appreciate the good work you doing in our lives and the entire people in our village through the donation of Holy Bibles, indeed we are so grateful. I am 34 years old, from "Choba village" located in River State, Nigeria, west Africa am a devoted committed Christian, I knew the Lord five years ago, after the death of my father, who led me to Christ Beloved there is a village called “Isiokpo”, about 80 kilometers away from our village, in this village, the people there are involved in different kind of evil and atrocities, they do worship their gods made of iron and clay. Any one who gave birth to twins babies in this village will be killed and the babies will be throne in to the evil forest where wild animals will eat them up. They do sacrifice a male and female virgin child of about 14 – 15 years old to their gods every year to appealed their gods. They also involved in murder, adultery, stealing and other kinds of immoral acts, the people of this village are living in bondage, sorrow and pain. There a witch doctor which is their chief priest, he do request for the head of a stranger in that village so it is difficult for any one to enter that village without been from that village, so every body is scared of that village even till now they are still involved in those kinds of evil activities. Beloved we were lead by the Holy Spirit to go to that village and minister the word of God to them and make that aware of what they are doing is wrong. On 17th of January, 2012 we journey to that village of “Isiokpo”. When we were approaching the village close to the river, we saw the witch doctor appear on top of the river pointing his staff toward us asking us to go back to where we coming from, and I replied the Lord has sent us here to deliver the people from bondage and captivity, when the witch doctor had this he grow angry and stretch his more sending fire to us, but to God be the glory there was no response, I remember the Bibles says our God is a God of consuming fire, immediately we started praying, to my great surprise he scream and scream and disappeared. We continue our journey, on the middle of the road to the market square, we saw the witch doctor change into a big snake set to harm us, we started praying I quote a Bible verse “Luke 10:19 behold I give you power to tread on serpent and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you” the snake rolled and rolled and disappeared. When we finally got to the village at about 4.oopm, we went to the market square where we hold our crusade programme. At first no one responded to us because the have not heard about Christ, but we continue to preach the word of God to them, at about 7:oopm the witch doctor came and walk to me saying who is your God? Then I replied our God is the Almighty God, the Alpha and Omega, the Mighty man in battle, the King of Kings, the Great Healer on the process he asked me can your God heal my son? I replied yes and he went and brought his son which was very ill at the point of death. By this time the whole people in the village has gathered, then I lift up my hands toward heaven and I quoted “Hebrew 4: 12 for the word of God is quick and powerful, and sharper that any two-edged sword, piercing even to the diving asunder of soul and spirit, and the joint and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart” I laid my hands on the son and pray for him in a few moment the child open his eyes and was completely healed, when the witch doctor and the people saw this miracle, they fell on their knees and said please pray for us we have decided to worship your God, and now they are born again and are serving God with their heart, I wish you were here to experience this miracle your self. Beloved we currently have about 27 new souls who has given their lives to Christ through this miracle and are ready to serve the Lord with the whole of their heart. But we are having problem with our Christian faith, because we do not have the bible and Christian literatures to read that gives faith and comfort. We could not able to afford a copy of the bible because we are poor converts. Please beloved, I kindly request on your assistance for 12 Large and Giant print Bibles and Christian literatures books written in English Language to distribute to these new Christian believers, who loved to serve the Lord and study God's holy word to close and learn more about God. We are in great need of the Holy Bibles to distribute to these new converts who are in great need of God's word to grow stronger in the Lord, and to lead them into a victorious Christian’s life. These new believers are backsliding because of lack of the Bible for their personal study, to read God's word brings us faith to perfect His will in our lives. We are in the end time, it is time we open our mouth wilder, and cry aloud and spare not to show His people their transgression, because the second coming of the Lord is at hand, we the saint should give no sleep to fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life to which we also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witness. It is my prayer for God to bring to pass what He is about to do in this village, and for He to raise His laborers into the harvest, and for He to provide for the provision of the fulfilling of the ministry? You are our only hope so we have decided to write to you, we have suffered so much for the lack of Bibles. We greatly need your assistance as we take the gospel to this entire village, for there are many things to be done for the Lord here, with the help of the Bibles will allow us to reach out more lost souls at this time of deception. We pray for God protection and strength upon your life, and for Him to lead you into His perfect understanding and knowledge to bring His people before Him in light. Thanks and God bless you. Evang. beloved in the Lord, THE CHURCHES OF CHRIST OF NIGERIA GREET YOU! Greetings to you, and to your family, with all the saints who gather with you. May the peace of our Father who dwells in Heaven abide continually with you. I count it all joy to come your way through this medium, though we have not met or corresponded before. By way of introduction, I am UCHENNA F. BEKEE, a gospel preacher with the Church of Christ that meets at opposite No. 3 Creek Road, Town, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State of Nigeria. I have been working in the vineyard of our Lord for eighteen years now, and am married with three kids. I became a preacher of the gospel due to the love I have for the souls that are living in darkness, as well as the burning desire to be a part of the building up of the body of Christ. I was born into a Christian family. My late father was also a minister of the gospel before he died in1992 after a protracted fight with diabetes. I have desired to continue the work which my father left behind and also to glorify God. Many souls have been led to be born into the family of God in our ministry. Brethren, a few years back the Lord ministered to my heart and opened my eyes to see the great need which our African children have and the associated dangers and setbacks they will face if Christian education is neglected. I have noticed and discovered the great damage being done to Christian homes here through a lack of Christ-centered education. From a population study which I did, and from many spot experiences in Bible classes that I have organized for our children, it was discovered that the devil is using the public schools, which are meant to be tuition-free, to attack the strength of the Church. Also, the so-called private schools, which are mostly owned by denominational churches, eat on the fabric of the behavior of our children and their faith. It became obvious that the near-absence of Church of Christ schools in our State, which has about 13 million people, is contributing to the absence of leadership in almost all the congregations here. This happens to such an extent that we hardly recover our children from falsehood. It also creates separation, weakness, and unfaithfulness in the parents and guardians. We have lost so many young people to drug abuse, promiscuity, rape, indecent life styles, and doctrinal error that many are discouraged from following the Lord. Some good families that are poor cannot afford to pay for the education of their children, and resort to these schools that offer free education and scholarships to them. As a result, they fall away from the faith. Seeing these trends disturbed my soul, so I began to think of what to do to salvage the situation. I discovered that if we can begin to establish Christian schools where our children can be trained and nurtured both academically and spiritually, we can begin to save the situation. I believe this work is essential to the growth of the kingdom of God in Rivers State, and in my country as a whole. HIDDEN TREASUREs CHRISTIAN SCHOOL was born as the fruit of a discussion I had in 2007 with Glenn Boyd, a brother from Searcy, Arkansas, who oversees the work going on at a Bible school in southeastern Nigeria. After that, God used my poor talents to begin this school, which is now nearly 4years and a half old. This school is meant to offer a full curriculum education to the children born into poor Christian families, and to serve the entire church family. It is prayerfully designed to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of these children. Part of our mission is also to serve the local community, those children who are underprivileged, delinquent, and neglected, by providing quality Christian residential education and care. Many of these children have been neglected, rejected, and abused. Through no fault of their own, they suffer from the ills of dysfunctional families. Emotionally, they are torn apart. We want to help them become useful to themselves, their families, and the community of believers. We seek to provide activities to assist the well-rounded development of each child or student, using Jesus' own development in Luke 2:52 as our model. Here at HTCS, intellectual growth is stimulated through academic training, physical growth is promoted through sports and other physical activities, and spiritual growth is fostered through religious training and worship periods. Students in Hidden Treasure are encouraged to always give their full effort in these areas. Our moral philosophy rests on the moral principles found in the Bible. Our overall educational goals seek to help each student become the best person God created him/her to be. Hidden Treasure s Christian School has been established to provide both the atmosphere and training most conducive for developing well-educated and faithful Christians. Hence, every member of the administration, faculty and staff is committed to live by and to teach the Bible as the Word of God. We have seven teachers, including four females and three males, as well as a minder who takes care of the younger children. The school is intended to be a purely missionary Christian school, and which is why this long letter has been prepared for you who also know the value of Christian education and training. I know of your faithful work in the Lord's vineyard and strongly hope that you people can help us and as well as guide us toward congregations or individuals who could help our great need. Presently, we are using a leased apartment, and we lack many basic facilities to encourage learning and development of the boys and girls under our stewardship. We are rapidly outgrowing our space and need to relocate to a place we can call our own. We need a minibus for the transportation of the children to and from school. Public transportation is beyond the financial capabilities of most of our families, and travel by foot is too perilous for young children. We also seek funds for classroom books, library books, science equipment, school desks, and a set of computers. I have included an estimated monthly budget of the school with our immediate needs. The Most being the funds needed to commence the Building project at the School Permanent Site to stop the government from closing down the School. The faculty and staff are Christians, working on faith that their salaries will be raised. An executive board of four Christian brothers has been set up to oversee the school and its finances. More detail can be provided upon request. We are praying that God will bless us with sponsoring congregations and individuals. At present our income is about $300/month, far less than needed .Of course, parents of students are expected to contribute what they are able, but most are very poor. Some of the needs are urgent. The church in Storrs has supported the work here for many years, but it is small and can only provide a small amount.
